Interested in raising cattle or chickens? WSU Regional Small Farms is offering several beginner-friendly livestock classes this month for small-scale farmers, backyard growers, and 4-H and FFA members.
Forage and Grazing Nutrition
June 17 | Online | 6:00–7:15 PM
Learn how cattle utilize forages, understand nutritional needs, feed more economically, and develop supplementation strategies that support health and reproductive performance.
Finishing: Grass or Grain
June 23 | Online | 6:00–7:15 PM
Explore the differences between grass- and grain-finishing, how feeding choices affect the end product, and practical guidance for cattle projects. Both cattle classes are taught by Dr. Don Llewellyn, Associate Professor and Livestock Extension Specialist, and are suitable for beginners.
