At KCAA, we are proud to support the work of local farms and organizations that are building a more resilient, sustainable food system in Kitsap County. One of our partners, Roots Farm, is offering a series of hands-on vermicomposting workshops for our community.
These practical, beginner-friendly workshops are designed to help participants turn everyday food scraps into nutrient-rich compost using simple, low-cost worm systems. By learning to compost with worms, community members can reduce landfill waste, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and create healthy soil to support local food production.
Whether you’re a home gardener, small farmer, educator, or simply curious about sustainable waste solutions, these classes provide the tools and confidence to get started right away. Spots are limited, so be sure to reserve your place at https://www.rootsfarmwa.com/classes
These classes are funded through a Public Participation Grant from the Washington State Department of Ecology, and Kitsap Community & Agricultural Alliance is honored to serve as the fiscal sponsor. We’re grateful to partner with organizations like Roots Farm that are helping to cultivate both healthy soil and a stronger, more connected community!
