The KCAA held its first Annual Meeting since the pandemic on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the Island Lake Community Building from 5:30 to 8:00 PM.
The evening began with a potluck and social hour from 5:30 to 6:30 PM, offering attendees a chance to connect. This was followed by presentations from KCAA board members, who shared highlights from the past year and outlined plans for 2025.
Representatives from various local county and agricultural organizations attended, including: WSU Kitsap Extension, Kitsap Conservation District, Eat Local First, Kitsap Fresh, Kitsap Environmental Coalition, Kitsap Harvest, Friends of the Farms, Kitsap Farmland Preservation Coalition, Kitsap Agritourism Coalition, and the Mason-Kitsap Farm Bureau.
Our guest speaker, Heather Cleveland from Kitsap County’s Department of Community Development, discussed the Year of the Rural initiative and the upcoming revision of the county’s Comprehensive Plan.
We were thrilled to see over 85 members of our agricultural community come together—and to welcome more than a dozen new members! We look forward to continuing our work in 2025—supporting local agriculture across the Kitsap Peninsula through education, advocacy, and community connection.
