On February 2, KCAA and the Mason-Kitsap Farm Bureau announced a new joint youth scholarship. This first-of-its-kind scholarship will be awarded in the spring of 2026 and is designed to help offset some of the up-front costs associated with raising livestock for the Junior Livestock auction.
Who is eligible?
All students in grades K–12 who are residents of Kitsap County. Students may be first-time or returning participants and may be enrolled in either small or large animal projects. Limit one application per participant.
There will be two categories of awards:
Large animal projects (pork, sheep, goat, beef, dairy): 8 scholarships at $200 each
Small animal projects (rabbits, poultry, fowl): 8 scholarships at $100 each
That’s a total of 16 youth scholarships available.
Online applications will open on February 7, 2026 on the KCAA website at www.KitsapAg.org and will close on February 27th. Scholarship recipients will be announced the second week of March and checks will be mailed the third week of March.
All projects are encouraged to apply! We look forward to supporting this year’s youth participants as they get started on their projects!! 🐄🐓🐑
