DCD Holds Preview Meeting For Newly Approved Agriculture Advisory Council

On Thursday, February 26, the Kitsap County Department of Community Development (DCD) hosted an informational meeting to preview the newly approved Agricultural Advisory Council’s proposed bylaws, tentative meeting schedule, and draft 2026 work plan.

The meeting was led by Heather Cleveland, Long Range Planner for Kitsap County DCD and Administrator for the Agricultural Advisory Council. Jess Sappington provided administrative support from WSU, and Diane Fish provided administrative support from the Kitsap Conservation District.

Applications from individuals interested in serving on the Council are currently under review. DCD is preparing an appointment resolution for consideration by the Board of County Commissioners at either the Monday, March 9 meeting at 5:30 p.m., or the Monday, March 23 meeting at 10:00 a.m.

The meeting was held in person at the Kitsap County Administrative Building in Port Orchard and was open to the general public as well as Council applicants. Attendance was strong. KCAA Board Members Scott Hall, Jeremy Anunson, and Karissa Holcombe were present.
