A New Update on the Petersen Barn

KCAA Members and Friends,

We wanted to follow up with you regarding the Petersen Barn, and let you know where things stand.

First, we want to thank everyone who signed our petition and shared your thoughts and ideas with the Great Peninsula Conservancy. You can find the public comments submitted through the petition here.

We are equally grateful to everyone who came out to the community gathering at the Petersen Farm on August 15, contacted decision makers, shared information, and spoke up for the barn in whatever way you could. You responded when we made the call, and your voices were heard! 

We appreciate GPC’s openness to public comment about the barn’s future, and we thank them for being receptive to ideas that look beyond its immediate demolition.

At this point, KCAA and GPC are working toward a joint board meeting in October to discuss possibilities for the barn. While there is still much to be discussed, we look forward to the opportunity to continue the conversation and explore what might be possible. Until then, the barn's demolition is on hold.

We will continue to keep you informed as this process moves forward and share updates along the way.
