Market Manager Tools
The Kitsap Peninsula's farmers market are important to farmers,
consumers, the community and the economy. As an organization focused
specifically on Kitsap, KCAA is committed to working closely with our
farmers markets to help them build their markets and understand how
policy issues can impact what happens every market day.
Selling Beer and Wine at Farmers Markets
Step #1 - Read the Washington State Liquor Control Board's
requirements document

This document, dated June 2003, outlines requirements from the
Washington State Liquor Control Board for selling beer and wine at
WA-based farmers markets
Step # 2 - Complete and mail/fax in the Washington State Liquor
Control Board's application for a license
"Application for Farmers Market to Allow the Sale of Bottled Wine and/or Beer"
This is the application you need to fill out for the Washington State
Liquor Control Board. Be sure to check all of the boxes on the second
page of the form! To submit the form you can:

NOTES:
- There is NO fee required for this license!
- Be sure to apply at least 50 days before you plan to sell beer or wine
- Be sure to attached a map of your farmers market showing which
stalls will sell beer or wine
- Get prepared for the Washington State Liquor Control Board to come to the market with the public notice that must stay up for 14 days.
You will need to provide the stake for the sign and actually install
the sign!
- An agent from the Washington State Liquor Control Board will likely
want to meet with the market manager at the market site after
receiving the application and prior to bringing the public notice for
posting.
Step #3 - Make sure your wine and/or beer vendor has met all of their
requirements to sell at a farmers market:
Requirement: They must complete (and receive approval for) an
Application for Added Endorsement from the Washington State Liquor
Control Board, pay a $75 fee, and provide monthly updates to the Board
on locations, dates and times for when they plan to sell beer or wine
at a farmers market. They can contact 360-664-1600, Option 4 for more

Requirement: They must meet the Washington State Department of
Agriculture's requirements as described on pages 56 & 57 of "The Green
Book"
Requirement: They must meet the requirements of their County's health
department.
Step # 4 - Renew your license each year
The license is only valid for one year so you will need to renew it
annually. The Washington State Liquor Control Board will
automatically send you an annual renewal application.
